EWB-OC is involved in both Overseas and Technology Development projects and welcomes engineers and non-engineers in all fields to help us in our mission. Whether you want to volunteer your engineering skills locally or travel abroad to implement a project, we have a way for you to help!
Project Milagro is a grassroots effort by the people of three communities in El Salvador; Las Delicias, Las Animas and El Rosario to bring potable water to roughly 1500 families. Water will be pumped to four distribution tanks and distributed to individual families, 5 schools and 10 churches. EWB is partnering with ENLACE and the community to install a 60 cubic meter distribution tank as part of the first implementation project scheduled for September 2009. Future projects may include water treatment/filtration as well as work on sanitation and sewage.

EWB-OC is partnering with 410 Bridge to build a footbridge for the local Kenyan community of Endana. In the rainy season, the rising waters of a surrounding river make reaching a medical clinic and life-saving care impossible for the people of Endana. This bridge will not only allow year round access to health care, but will also better connect Endana and surrounding communities to trade, education, friends/family, and emergency aid. The team returned from a highly successful assessment trip in June 2009 and is now working to design and fundraise for the bridge implementation.
